Depth unlike you have seen before
Brelyon’s Ultra Dimensions is a family of depth modulation technologies (over 12 patents) that allows programming the wavefront of the light in large and small apertures. Unlike traditional wavefront engineering - which provides per pixel control of the wavefront in small increments - Brelyon’s Ultra Dimensions allows very large, but sparse sampling of the wavefront. This gives a very clean depth control with micro radian accuracy across the entire aperture, resulting in crisp images that appear to be floating in depth from an infinite viewable zone. This technology is compatible with autostereoscopic techniques and existing image sources such as OLEDs, micro LEDs and projectors to provide perspective-correct, accommodation-correct light-fields.
Light-field expansion, explained
Light-field expansion is a family of technologies that expands the angular range of light coming out of a light-field engine (13 patents). This is rather similar in principle to pupil expansion or pupil replication in XR literature; however, it’s done for managing massive scale rays of light in the far field. The technology allows creating a window-like effect where you can look through the window into the virtual world. Perfect for bringing immersion into compact spaces.
