GPU-Addressable Monocular Depth: A 1000x Finer Play with Light
Every depth is not created equal, you might be familiar with stereoscopic 3D in IMAX or headsets where each eye sees slightly shifted images to trigger stereopsis essentially tricking your brain to think what it is seeing is 3D. This is a great way to downsample (93 mrad at 70 cm distance) the true light field that represents the world around us, but since its very coarse it jumps over monocular depth cues (which are discerned in as small as 104 µrad steps) this creates accommodation vergence mismatch leading to fatigue accumulation and that hazy imagery you may have experienced in stereo 3D where your eye can’t maintain focus. While monocular depth alone does not provide stereoscopic 3D cues in Extend, it always matches the vergence of the eyes, making it much easier on the eyes during prolonged usage and without compromising image quality.

Auto-generate depth where it matters
While Ultra Reality Extend provides 1 bit MD per pixel, generating all of that data in real time is still not possible with standard GPUs. Brelyon ARGEN's heart is the world's first generative rendering architecture that allows the display to read a single 4K 60Hz video input and generate one bit of depth per frame in real time, toggling between different distances as you interact with your content. This capability is crucial for simulation training, teleoperation, and serves as an infrastructure for multi-focal gaming.
